Senior Payroll Specialist, EMEA

Location: Remote from home; open to candidates across all hirify.global locations. The position is administratively posted under Italy/Cytiva, with Milan, Italy listed as the posting location.

Salary: €45,950–€63,350 gross annual salary, plus 10% target bonus.

What you will do

• Own complex, high-risk, and multi-country payrolls across EMEA.
• Process payroll accurately and on time, including off-cycle payments, adjustments, final pay, filings, and reports.
• Interpret statutory requirements, validate payroll data, audit records, and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide expert guidance on payroll calculations, tax withholdings, benefits, and direct deposits.
• Collaborate on payroll system upgrades, integrations, configurations, and standardized regional workflows.
• Drive payroll harmonization, process improvements, automation opportunities, and procedure documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or at least 7 years of related payroll experience.
• At least 5 years of experience processing complex payroll in a multi-country environment.
• Expert understanding of end-to-end payroll operations and statutory requirements.
• Expertise with ADP, Workday, SAP, or similar payroll systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and implement solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.
