Lab Software Engineer (AI)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States

Base salary: $152,000–$205,000 annually, plus bonus and equity.

hirify.global is a biotech startup using generative AI and foundation models for biology and disease to accelerate drug discovery and develop protein and antibody therapeutics.

What you will do

• Design and develop software interfaces for laboratory instruments and capture data from high- and low-throughput experiments.
• Build scalable pipelines for automated processing of instrument data.
• Define data models and schemas for experimental samples and biological data with computational and experimental teams.
• Develop APIs and tools for data aggregation, analysis, and visualization.
• Configure and manage LIMS and ELN systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#.
• Understanding of laboratory workflows and scientific data.
• Experience developing software for laboratory instruments and scientific data models or schemas.
• Working knowledge of SQL queries and database table design.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with ELN/LIMS systems, especially Benchling.
• Experience with cloud computing environments, particularly AWS.
• For senior-level candidates: 5+ years of industry experience, a record of delivering lab data solutions, requirements gathering, technical project leadership, and cross-functional execution.
