Associate, Communications

Location: On-site at the Dallas or Houston office location, with travel to jobsites as needed up to 20%

What you will do

• Provide on-site communications and community relations support for assigned mission-critical data center projects.
• Coordinate construction-impact communications covering noise, dust, traffic, road closures, work-hour changes, signage, access routes, and site operations.
• Write and distribute community bulletins, construction alerts, and other plain-language outreach materials.
• Build relationships with residents, community associations, local businesses, municipal stakeholders, and client outreach teams.
• Manage community questions and complaints, track follow-up actions, monitor local media and social sentiment, and escalate public relations risks.
• Write and edit internal communications, support newsletters and campaigns, maintain intranet content, and organize project meeting records and photo archives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in public relations, community relations, public affairs, or corporate communications with public-facing responsibility.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear community bulletins for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring deliverables, and short-deadline communications in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of SharePoint or comparable intranet platforms, email distribution tools, and presentation programs.
• Willingness to work on-site regularly, interact in person with communities, walk active jobsites, and comply with safety and PPE requirements.

Nice to have

• Agency, municipal, infrastructure outreach, or architecture, engineering, and construction experience.
• Basic video or audio production experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
