TL;DR
Java Software Engineer (FinTech): Building scalable, low-latency backend services and distributed asynchronous systems for a global trading platform with an accent on Java, Spring, event-driven architecture, and financial transaction security. Focus on optimizing JVM, database, caching, and networking performance, designing fault-tolerant systems, and applying AI tools to coding, testing, and delivery.
Location: Warsaw, Poland; Limassol, Cyprus; or Sofia, Bulgaria. Hybrid work with 3 days from the office, or fully remote across the country of employment. A workation policy allows remote work from anywhere in the world for up to 30 days.

What you will do
- Design and build scalable, low-latency, high-performance backend services.
- Develop distributed and asynchronous systems with strong reliability and fault tolerance.
- Optimize performance across JVM, databases, caching, and networking layers.
- Apply security best practices when handling client PII and financial transactions.
- Implement event-driven architectures and messaging solutions such as Kafka.
- Collaborate with security, operations, product, and other cross-functional teams while maintaining code quality through testing, reviews, and CI/CD.
Requirements
- Proven experience in FinTech, banking, or related financial domains.
- Advanced knowledge of Java Core and the Spring framework.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, client-server models, concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with SQL databases, database performance, structure, and replication.
- Understanding of network protocols, security practices, Kubernetes, operational activities, pipelines, and modern CI/CD strategies.
- Analytical thinking, effective communication, adaptability, ownership, and accountability.
Nice to have
- JVM performance optimization experience.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Strong knowledge of in-memory caching solutions.
