Software Engineer (SQL & Java)

Location: Nicosia, Cyprus; hybrid model with part-time office work and occasional travel to client premises.

Salary: EUR 27,550.00–35,820.00 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, debug, maintain, support, implement, and validate TSYS payment software.
• Write Java code using Spring Boot and Spring Batch, independently or with support from a team leader.
• Resolve client software issues, support the software lifecycle, and correct code deficiencies.
• Follow coding standards and development best practices while maintaining application documentation and deliverables.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across disciplines.
• Gradually take ownership of technical solutions and deliverables, including occasional client-facing support.

Requirements

• 0–4+ years of hands-on software development and testing experience.
• Degree-level education in an IT-related subject such as Computer Science or MIS.
• Good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch gained through academic, personal, or professional projects.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, database concepts, SQL, and procedural programming for at least one database engine.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Flexibility to participate in a rotational 24-hour on-call program and work in the Nicosia hybrid model.

Nice to have

• UNIX/Linux and Oracle database development experience, including PL/SQL and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud environments, or AWS.
• Kafka, REST APIs, and AI skills.
