What you will do

• Define and execute the end-to-end payments technology strategy, investment roadmap, target architecture, and build-buy-partner decisions.
• Lead modernization across Wire, ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTP, FedNow, Digital Assets, Treasury Services, and emerging payment capabilities.
• Oversee large engineering and architecture organizations, budgets, delivery streams, staffing, and strategic vendor relationships.
• Advance cloud-enabled, API-driven, platform engineering, event-driven architecture, DevSecOps, automation, observability, and continuous delivery.
• Apply AI, data, and intelligent automation to improve engineering productivity, operational efficiency, risk management, and client experiences.
• Ensure payment platforms meet requirements for availability, resiliency, scalability, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, controls, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including at least 4 years in engineering or architecture and 11 years in large technology management or program leadership with people management.
• Experience leading large organizations of 100+ employees across multiple teams, locations, and time zones.
• Deep knowledge of payments ecosystems, including Wire, ACH, SWIFT, ISO 20022, RTP, FedNow, settlement processing, transaction banking, and treasury services.
• Proven success modernizing mission-critical platforms in highly regulated environments.
• Expertise in cloud transformation, APIs, distributed systems, platform engineering, cybersecurity, operational resilience, recovery planning, technology risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with Azure cloud technologies, DevSecOps, platform engineering, and agile delivery models.
• Leadership experience in payments, treasury management, transaction banking, or financial services.
• Experience with large platform modernization initiatives, core system transformations, vendor management, and technology partnerships.
