Software Engineer II, iOS (Swift)

What you will do

• Design and implement consumer-facing recommendation features in the Tinder iOS app.
• Build polished mobile experiences integrating recommendation logic, REST APIs, experiments, analytics, and quality validation.
• Own well-scoped features from planning and implementation through testing, experiment launch, and validation.
• Collaborate with iOS and backend engineers, Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, QA, ML, Infrastructure, and partner teams.
• Write maintainable Swift code and protect app performance, reliability, and member experience.
• Investigate bugs, identify root causes, add tests or monitoring, and contribute to shared frameworks and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Approximately 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping production consumer-facing applications with native iOS technologies.
• Proficiency in Swift and modern iOS development, including SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience with Xcode, the iOS SDK, REST API integration, Git, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Ability to write testable, maintainable code using Swift Testing, XCTest, or similar tools.
• Strong debugging, code-quality, communication, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in the Palo Alto office three times per week is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with UIKit, Objective-C, Combine, modular iOS architectures, dependency injection, or production consumer experiences at scale.
• Experience with Bazel, Swift Package Manager, XCUITest, CI/CD pipelines, mobile monitoring, experimentation platforms, analytics, design systems, or feature flags.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and responsible code-validation practices.
• A BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
