Scientist I, Microbiology (Biotechnology)

Location: Pennington, New Jersey, United States

Pay range: $70,000–$85,000 per year, based on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Conduct environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, water testing, gas testing, and sample processing.
• Support QC microbiology laboratory procedures, including method development and updates to governing procedures.
• Perform routine and verification product testing, method suitability studies, training, and related documentation.
• Monitor and test media fills and conduct microorganism analysis, including plate reads, Gram staining, growth promotion, bioburden, endotoxin, mycoplasma, and biological indicator testing.
• Participate in EMPQ, cleanroom validation, aseptic training, gowning qualifications, and associated documentation.
• Follow cGMP requirements and support QC optimization initiatives involving inventory, sample workflows, and laboratory preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• 2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices, Data Integrity, and ALCOA+.
• Experience following standard operating procedures or protocols.
• Ability to solve problems, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
