Laboratory Technician - Rapid Microbiology (OKC Night-Shift) (Microbiology)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA; onsite, laboratory-based night-shift position with occasional weekend, holiday, or off-shift coverage.

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing of food products using approved traditional and rapid methodologies.
• Execute rapid microbiological methods, including automated microbial detection systems and related instrumentation.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples; receive, process, incubate, interpret, and report results.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment while supporting environmental monitoring and microbiological investigations.
• Participate in method validations, verifications, technology transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation, review data for accuracy and completeness, and support laboratory inventory management.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience in microbiology or a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, medical device, or related industry.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, perform repetitive tasks, wear required PPE, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory and familiarity with food safety.
• Experience with rapid microbiological technologies, automated systems, or laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
