Cyber Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Westfields, Virginia, United States; onsite with no remote or telework allowed. Customer core hours are 09:00–15:00, Monday–Friday.

Salary: $136,889.31–$238,023.95 annually. The posting also lists $5,000 under Salary.

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, and interpret large cybersecurity datasets using analytical, statistical, and programming skills.
• Analyze data from vulnerability scanning, auditing, authorization, and configuration management tools.
• Transform, visualize, and report actionable insights using tools such as Tableau.
• Develop metrics and graphical presentations for information assurance compliance reporting.
• Modernize legacy Microsoft Excel visualization and situational awareness tools into data-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with risk management teams to integrate automation and dynamic visualization into cybersecurity workflows.

Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a Top Secret / SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Requires 10–12 years of experience with a BS/BA, 8–10 years with an MS/MA, or 5–7 years with a PhD.
• Must possess DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM, or obtain it within six months of contract start.
• Deep understanding of statistics and statistical analysis of large datasets.
• Experience with AI/ML, including SageMaker, Python, databases, data structures, data architectures, and data transformation using JSON or similar formats.
• Experience with data visualization tools and strong communication, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• STEM bachelor's degree and experience applying AI/ML to security problems such as anomaly detection and threat hunting.
• Knowledge of adversarial machine learning, security model development, feature engineering, and explainable AI.
• Experience with AWS, ServiceNow, Splunk, relational database management systems, EMR, RMF, and information assurance processes.
• Experience supporting IC or DoD cybersecurity programs and briefing senior customer personnel.
