Municipal Syndicate Operations Analyst (Municipal Bonds)

Location: Chicago, IL; office workplace type

Salary: $77,000–$154,000 annual base compensation, plus eligibility for applicable incentive compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Support daily operations for the institutional municipal underwriting desk across competitive and negotiated offerings.
• Maintain deal terms, new issue data, ticket information, allocations, and pricing workflows in Ipreo, Bloomberg, Deals Database, and related systems.
• Reconcile transaction revenue, expenses, settlements, and closeout documentation while investigating discrepancies.
• Monitor MSRB EMMA submissions, complete Form G-32 filings, process G-11 syndicate and private placement settlements, and coordinate good-faith and closing wires.
• Review official statements, bond purchase agreements, issue price certificates, closing memos, and deal checklists.
• Coordinate with underwriters, investment bankers, sales, trading, operations, bond counsel, municipal advisors, and syndicate members to support compliant transaction execution.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in municipal underwriting operations, fixed income operations, or similar broker-dealer operations.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong knowledge of municipal bond products, issuance structures, competitive and negotiated offerings, taxable and tax-exempt bonds, private placements, and syndicated transactions.
• Experience with Bloomberg TOMs, Ipreo Municipal BookBuild, EMMA, and municipal underwriting or settlement platforms.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office products.

Nice to have

• FINRA Series 52 or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
• Experience managing new issues across asset classes with a focus on municipal securities.
