Lead Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA; expected to work from the Seattle offices. On-site requirements vary by position and team. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Base salary: $176,400–$264,600 per year, plus bonus plans.

What you will do

• Lead the organizational security program, including policies, standards, system security plans, evaluations, and security investments.
• Assess and mitigate vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure, ML pipelines, application code, and SaaS platforms.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and drive remediation to closure.
• Build security compliance, observability, and governance tooling such as audit logging, access control, vulnerability management, and configuration baselines.
• Define secure-development practices and advise research, engineering, and organizational leaders on practical risk reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, application security, or security architecture, ideally including ownership of a security program.
• Hands-on experience conducting security and compliance audits and implementing or assessing controls, including NIST 800-171.
• Ability to build a security program from the ground up and address ambiguous, high-stakes problems independently.
• Strong communication skills for advising technical leaders and translating security risks into actionable recommendations.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
