Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts, United States; onsite in the optical department

Salary: $40.00–$42.00 per hour, plus spiffs. Eligible full-time Licensed Optician positions receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Dispense spectacles and other optical products for adults and children using prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Verify order data and prescription information, file orders accurately, and update product status through dispensing.
• Take measurements, select suitable frames, read prescriptions with a lensometer, and notify members when products are ready.
• Explain optical procedures and products, recommend solutions for visual needs, and deliver in-person and phone-based member service.
• Perform eyeglass adjustments and repairs using optical hand tools while following privacy and HIPAA requirements.
• Support opening and closing procedures, payment handling, store standards, and accurate financial transactions.

Requirements

• Active optician license required for the state of employment; the license must remain current.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance required for full-time employment.
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma, college degree, and/or wholesale, retail, or optical experience preferred.
• Ability to move around frequently, handle optical tools, and lift objects up to 20 pounds; heavier objects may require assistance.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optical products and optical business practices.
• Big-box wholesale, retail, or optical experience.
