(USA) Optician, Licensed – Sam’s Club

Location: Panama City, FL, United States; onsite, part-time position.

Hourly wage: $33.00–$41.00 per hour. Additional premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour may apply in specific circumstances.

Retail optical services are provided through a Sam’s Club facility, supporting members with eyewear, contact lenses, and related products and services.

What you will do

• Assist members with optical purchasing decisions, eyewear and contact lens orders, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
• Measure, adjust, and repair frames and lenses while verifying prescription information.
• Perform and document optometric pretest results and collect payments for doctor services.
• Maintain optical merchandise presentation, including stocking, pricing, cleaning, organizing, and securing merchandise.
• Manage the optical sales floor, claims, returns, zoning, shrink identification, and damage control.
• Complete required paperwork, forms, logs, and other documentation while following company procedures.

Requirements

• Active ABO and NCLE certification through the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners.
• At least three years of experience typically expected.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must satisfy applicable state law requirements to become an apprentice optician, optician, or member of the Vision or Optical department.
• Work with the manager to register and maintain an NPI number as required by state regulations.
