Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

Location: Remote, United States; U.S. citizenship required

What you will do

• Automate and build production runtime environments for cloud-native applications.
• Bridge application development teams and production platform teams while advocating engineering best practices.
• Validate solutions against technical tasks and business requirements.
• Independently solve platform problems and develop small components without relying on complete architecture diagrams.
• Estimate effort for medium-sized tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Debug systems, read and write code, and support infrastructure, security, and implementation work.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on system architecture and development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Docker, cloud services, distributed architectures, containerization, and everything-as-code.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Ansible, plus basic shell scripting knowledge.
• Proficiency with YAML and knowledge of DevOps, DevSecOps, and CI/CD theory.
• Strong independent problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Active Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience with security automation, API security, container security, and cloud security.
• Experience with architecture security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation in complex enterprise environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT II certification or experience with Department of Defense production ATO systems.
• Experience working in Agile teams and remote environments.
