TL;DR
Web Scraping Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js): Maintaining and extending web extraction infrastructure that processes millions of pages daily, with an accent on scraper reliability, data quality, and high-throughput pipeline operations. Focus on building production scraping scripts, debugging broken scrapers, validating extracted data, and monitoring real-time data quality with dashboards and asynchronous processing systems.
Location: Fully remote and open to any time zone; 8+ hours of daily availability with overlap during US business hours required.

What you will do
- Monitor and triage broken scrapers and data quality alerts.
- Build and deploy web scraping scripts for sites requiring data extraction.
- Validate scraped data and investigate discrepancies.
- Create real-time dashboards for scraped data monitoring.
- Collaborate with AI agents to address capability gaps, fix issues, and improve existing scripts.
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience building or maintaining web scraping solutions.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL.
- Experience with Puppeteer or similar browser automation libraries.
- Experience debugging and fixing broken scrapers in production.
- Experience with RabbitMQ or similar message queues, Redis or similar caching systems, and Google Cloud Platform or equivalent infrastructure.
- Experience with bash, git, and gRPC; strong asynchronous communication and comfort with ambiguity are required.
Nice to have
- BigQuery experience.
- Experience building dashboards or data visualization tools.
