Middle Node.js Engineer (AWS)

Location: Fully remote from Córdoba or Buenos Aires, Argentina

What you will do

• Lead the migration and deployment of backend systems into highly available, multi-region AWS environments.
• Design and evolve scalable event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Build and maintain reliable backend services with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Apply Clean Architecture and engineering best practices to improve code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Web, Mobile, Product Owners, and other technical stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, technical planning, production releases, and improvements to system performance and resilience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with expert proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native, highly available, multi-region solutions on AWS, including Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
• Deep expertise in event-driven architecture and Apache Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, Clean Architecture, design patterns, and maintainable coding practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with Web, Mobile, Product, and technical stakeholders.
• Native Spanish and intermediate English required.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-scale, high-transaction, or fintech environments, including legacy-system modernization and migration to AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, logging, incident management, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Experience mentoring engineers or contributing to engineering standards.
