Laboratory Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Florida, United States. Onsite, full-time, 2nd shift; initial training on 1st shift is required, with possible continued or periodic 1st-shift support. Limited travel may be required. Must be a US citizen.

hirify.global supports the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center through aerospace laboratory sampling and analysis operations.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, calibrate, repair, purge, and prepare sampling equipment for certification.
• Collect and transport aerospace gas and fluid samples, including hypergolic fuels, cryogens, and high-pressure gases.
• Conduct onsite analyses using flowmeters, temperature and humidity instruments, contamination counters, leak-rate probes, recorders, and gas regulator panels.
• Make measurements with analytical instruments, calculate and record results, and provide critical launch support analysis.
• Prepare analytical solutions and gas mixtures and assist chemists with specialized tests, investigations, troubleshooting, and data collection.
• Maintain accurate records and reports while supporting laboratory, environmental, quality, EPA/Florida, DOH/NELAC, and RCRA compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience sampling aerospace-related commodities or operating sampling equipment.
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to work onsite at Kennedy Space Center and support 2nd-shift operations, including initial 1st-shift training.
• Ability to work in enclosed spaces and at heights up to 500 feet and perform repetitive tasks under critical deadlines.

Nice to have

• Ability to pass KSC-provided physicals for fuel handling, SCAPE, working at heights, confined space, and respirator use.
• Florida Commercial Driver’s License, Class C, or ability to obtain one.
• Computer literacy and the ability to accurately record and analyze data.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
