Senior Cloud Engineer (Containers Focus)

Location: Site-based role in Carlsbad, California, or Englewood, Colorado; employees must work at a hirify.global office or work location at least 60% of the workweek.

Salary: $121,000–$191,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $150,000–$225,000 annually.

What you will do

• Administer and operate a microservices platform based on Kubernetes, Rancher, vCluster, and OpenShift.
• Build Infrastructure as Code automation and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, ArgoCD, AWX, Vault, Python, Bash, Shell, and JavaScript.
• Improve monitoring, logging, observability, reliability, and performance with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and OpenTelemetry.
• Implement platform security, data governance, and compliance controls.
• Participate in on-call support, incident resolution, post-incident improvements, and root-cause analysis for Linux and Windows environments.
• Review cluster configurations, implement upgrades, maintain documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, containerization, Kubernetes, Rancher, and monitoring solutions.
• Strong proficiency with Ansible, Python, Terraform, GitLab runners, and scripting for automation.
• Experience administering Linux systems and troubleshooting Linux and Windows servers.
• Experience designing and improving microservice infrastructure and migrating legacy workloads to the cloud.
• Understanding of security, compliance, data governance, and infrastructure best practices.
• US citizenship and the ability to work onsite at a hirify.global office are required; ability to travel up to 10% is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Docker, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Puppet, GitHub Actions, and related CI/CD tools.
• Experience with Rancher Labs, AKS, GKS, EKS, AWS, OpenStack, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, software development life cycle practices, and Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification.
