Senior Director, Program Management (Hypersonic Aerospace)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at Mojave Air & Spaceport

Salary: $268,000–$334,000 annually, with a target bonus of 27%

What you will do

• Lead the program management function for a portfolio of multidisciplinary programs involving hypersonic vehicle design, manufacturing, and flight testing.
• Oversee delivery against cost, schedule, technical performance, risk, and customer satisfaction objectives.
• Establish program management methodologies, operating rhythms, governance, scheduling, and risk-management standards.
• Allocate resources, resolve cross-program conflicts, manage suppliers, and oversee the Program Management Office budget.
• Develop program strategies, business plans, partnerships, and new business opportunities with executive leadership.
• Lead customer, government, partner, executive, and Board-level communications, including complex contract negotiations.

Requirements

• At least 20 years of progressive technical or program management experience, including 10 years in senior leadership roles in aerospace, defense, or high-technology sectors.
• Experience leading large, complex, multidisciplinary programs or portfolios with annual budgets exceeding $100M.
• Extensive experience with aerospace program management, subcontracts, procurement, personnel management, aircraft systems, operations, launch vehicle integration, and ground systems.
• Advanced expertise in risk management, classified program execution, regulatory compliance, subcontractor oversight, and prototype or low-rate production.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management/administration, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS (Top Secret) security clearance.

Nice to have

• Hypersonic vehicle development experience.
• Experience with government agencies, regulatory bodies, major defense contractors, air-launch, launch vehicle, aircraft integration, or military aircraft operations.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent advanced program management certification.
