AILab Automation Scientist (1 Year Contract) (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Salary: $132,000–$195,000 annual base salary, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Connect Machine Learning, Hardware, Biology, and Chemistry teams by translating ehirify.globalperimental constraints into algorithmic and hardware requirements.
• Design, build, and deploy automated laboratory workflows in which AI models control robotics and physical equipment.
• Develop firmware, APIs, and drivers integrating laboratory automation hardware with cloud-based AI infrastructure.
• Design data engineering pipelines for cleaning and structuring high-throughput genomic, proteomic, and imaging data for machine learning.
• Scope, prototype, and test high-risk technical features, turning ambiguous ideas into working physical prototypes.
• Communicate technical concepts, results, and progress clearly to non-ehirify.globalpert colleagues.

Requirements

• Ph.D. and a strong research record in biophysics, chemistry, biology, bioengineering, or chemical engineering.
• At least 3 years of professional or postdoctoral ehirify.globalperience at the intersection of biology, hardware, and software.
• Hands-on ehirify.globalperience with hardware prototyping, sensor integration, microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi, and SPI, I2C, or UART protocols.
• Advanced wet-lab ehirify.globalperience, including molecular biology, assay development, cell or tissue culture, and synthetic biology.
• Strong proficiency in Python, agent harnesses, and GitHub.

• Ehirify.globalperience with laboratory automation standards and frameworks such as PyLabRobot, Hamilton, Tecan, or Agilent Bravo.
• Protein engineering ehirify.globalperience and mechanical aptitude.
