Senior Cloud Architect (GCP)

Location: Remote nationwide in the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $129,300–$177,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise Google Cloud Platform infrastructure, cloud-native services, and platform engineering capabilities.
• Develop architecture patterns, engineering standards, governance controls, and reusable self-service platform capabilities.
• Lead cloud architecture and design activities involving Kubernetes, automation, identity and access management, networking, observability, and operational resilience.
• Build Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, policy-based governance, and platform engineering solutions.
• Evaluate cloud products and integration requirements while balancing security, scalability, reliability, cost, and operational supportability.
• Provide technical leadership and influence architecture decisions across platform engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, SRE, and application teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or architecture experience, including 3+ years designing and operating public cloud solutions.
• 2+ years working with Google Cloud Platform or similar public cloud platforms and experience designing large-scale cloud architectures in regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform; cloud platform engineering; automation; self-service enablement; and CI/CD solutions.
• Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine, plus cloud security, governance, networking, identity, observability, and cloud operations.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, technical leadership, and cross-team decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Google Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience with enterprise-scale GCP environments, GKE, Cloud Run, and cloud-native application architectures.
• Experience with GitOps, platform automation, developer enablement, reliability engineering, monitoring, logging, and compliance frameworks.
