Director, AI Solutions Engineering Lead

Location: Thessaloniki, Chortiatis, Greece; hybrid work arrangement. Flexible working hours are required to collaborate with international stakeholders across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Occasional travel may be expected.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of multiple AI initiatives spanning POC, MVP, and enterprise-grade production stages.
• Make portfolio-level architecture decisions and resolve cross-initiative dependencies, conflicts, and technical debt priorities.
• Shape 12–18-month technical strategy, including build-versus-buy assessments, vendor and platform evaluations, and feasibility input.
• Lead architecture spikes and reference implementations while addressing the most complex technical problems and reviewing pull requests.
• Establish engineering standards, testing discipline, release readiness, production reliability, security, and compliance practices across blended teams.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads, influence senior stakeholders, and manage budgets for contractors, vendors, tooling, and engineering industrialization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, plus 10+ years of hands-on AI, data, or software solution engineering experience.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across multiple concurrent products, including production systems and blended internal and external teams.
• Deep expertise in at least one core discipline, with broad knowledge of data products, AI products, generative and agentic AI, and full-stack applications.
• Strong hands-on capability with Python, SQL, cloud analytics ecosystems such as AWS and Snowflake, modern AI tooling, CI/CD, and MLOps/LLMOps.
• Ability to lead through influence, make complex technical decisions independently, mentor engineers and technical leads, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills required.

• Experience building generative and agentic AI solutions and contributing to product strategy or roadmap definition.
• Pharmaceutical or life sciences commercial knowledge, data literacy, and awareness of applicable regulatory and legal considerations.
