Senior AI Data Scientist — Agentic Process Development

Location: Fully remote, with eligibility to work in the country of application; listed locations are Crete, Greece; Florence, Italy; Barcelona, Spain; Berlin, Germany; and Gent, Belgium.

What you will do

• Map HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance, rewards, and offboarding across multiple countries and systems.
• Design and build production agentic workflows with state transitions, tool calls, retries, timeouts, idempotency, and partial-failure recovery.
• Implement safety controls including dry-run modes, approval gates, least-privilege credentials, rollback paths, and human review queues.
• Develop evaluations for task completion, hallucination, bias, and other quality characteristics that standard precision and recall do not capture.
• Optimize model routing, caching, batching, cost, and latency, and evaluate HR-tech vendors based on APIs, data models, extensibility, and integration costs.
• Facilitate workshops with HR stakeholders and prepare quantitative business cases for Finance and executive audiences.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience building data and ML systems.
• Expert Python and ML skills, with strong applied statistics and the ability to assess whether results are trustworthy.
• Production experience with multi-step, tool-calling LLM workflows and state-machine design.
• End-to-end engineering experience including containerization, instrumentation, deployment, and operational ownership.
• Experience building systems authorized to take irreversible actions affecting real customers.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the country of application is required; relocation packages and visa sponsorship are not supported.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• EU AI Act or high-risk AI system experience.
• PromptOps at scale, including prompt versioning, testing, and rollback.
• DataOps or MLOps practice.
• HRIS/HR-tech experience or automation experience in an audited or regulated domain.
