Licensed Optical Manager Full Time

Location: Torrington, CT, United States; onsite

Salary: Starting at $40 per hour, excluding Manager Bonus and spiff program compensation.

What you will do

• Manage, teach, coach, and supervise Optical department team members.
• Provide Member service, schedule eye exams, answer calls, process eyewear orders, and notify Members when products are ready.
• Perform optician duties, including eyeglass adjustments, measurements, prescription reading with a lensometer, and use of optical hand tools.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, payments, paperwork, sales targets, and department metrics.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe Optical department and deliver daily GOLD club standards.
• Coordinate with the Club Manager, Regional Optical Manager, laboratory, and doctors regarding performance, maintenance, staffing, and orders.

Requirements

• Active optician license valid in the state of employment is required.
• Leadership experience, including supervising teams, training team members, and communicating results.
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance.
• At least 18 years of age; high school, college, retail, wholesale, optical, or management experience is preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrington, Connecticut.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optical products and business practices.
• College degree or experience in big-box wholesale, retail, optical, or management.
