Focus on designing infrastructure for heavy and abnormal loads, integrating drainage with site grading and utilities, and supporting construction through technical reviews and site query resolution.

What you will do
- Lead the design of access roads, internal plant roads, heavy haul roads, drainage systems, and paved areas from concept through detailed design and construction support.
- Prepare road alignments, geometric designs, pavement designs, cross-sections, layouts, profiles, and detailed drawings.
- Perform flexible and rigid pavement calculations for heavy equipment and abnormal loads, considering soil and environmental conditions.
- Design surface drainage, culverts, ditches, and stormwater networks integrated with site grading and underground utilities.
- Prepare technical specifications, material take-offs, scopes of work, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Coordinate with structural, process, pipeline, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines, and resolve construction-stage technical queries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree in Highway or Road Engineering is preferred.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in road and pavement design, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects.
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield developments, heavy haul roads, and internal plant roads.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, or equivalent road design software.
- Knowledge of AASHTO, DMRB, BS, ASTM, Iraqi, or other applicable road design standards, as well as drainage, culvert, geotechnical, and road safety requirements.
- Work location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Nice to have
- Experience in the Middle East, especially Iraq or the UAE.
- Knowledge of Iraqi road design standards and regulations.
- Experience with road and paving construction methods and materials in hot, arid climates.
