Structural Engineer (Aluminum/Facade)

What you will do

• Design and analyze aluminum and facade systems, including curtain walls, glazing, cladding, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, and support systems.
• Prepare structural calculations for profiles, mullions, transoms, reinforcements, brackets, anchors, and connections.
• Assess wind, dead, live, thermal, and project-specific loads, verifying deflection, stress, stability, and structural performance.
• Coordinate with facade designers, BIM modelers, architects, and other engineering disciplines during design development and shop-drawing stages.
• Review structural reports, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation details, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Provide factory and site support, participate in inspections and technical meetings, and resolve issues involving fabrication, anchors, brackets, connections, tolerances, and installation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in aluminum, facade, curtain wall, glazing, cladding, or building-envelope industries.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, wind loading, deflection criteria, thermal movement, stress analysis, and connection design.
• Experience with aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, steel reinforcements, brackets, anchors, and fixing systems.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent structural analysis software, plus AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Eurocode, BS, AAMA, ASTM, UAE/local authority requirements, and relevant project standards. UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
