What you will do

• Identify and pursue media opportunities highlighting hirify.global’s leadership in open-access publishing.
• Build relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers across science, academia, publishing, and education.
• Manage reactive PR, media enquiries, press releases, op-eds, position statements, and spokesperson talking points.
• Integrate media engagement into advocacy, policy, and brand campaigns.
• Own media measurement and reporting, manage the media section of the website, and support agency coordination and content dissemination.
• Train and mentor junior team members while improving media processes and responsiveness.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in media relations, journalism, or PR in an agency, in-house, or newsroom setting.
• Proven success securing positive coverage in quality publications and managing enquiries from tier-one media.
• A network of contacts in science, academia, publishing, or policy.
• Native English and strong media writing, pitching, relationship-management, and communication skills.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Previous experience at a publishing house.
• Secondary European language.
• Crisis management experience.
