Senior Machine Learning / NLP (Contractor)

Location: Fully remote, with role locations listed as Marbella or Madrid, Spain. European legal working status is required.

What you will do

• Design, train, evaluate, and deploy advanced NLP and machine learning models for a large-scale, high-precision detection pipeline.
• Build integration layers connecting new ML predictions with established production systems.
• Develop automated feedback loops and continuous learning mechanisms that improve model performance with minimal manual intervention.
• Move models from research and evaluation into production, optimizing them for low-latency inference and high reliability.
• Create evaluation benchmarks, automated testing harnesses, monitoring dashboards, and performance metrics for ML implementations.

Requirements

• Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of NLP tasks including entity extraction, text classification, and contextual understanding.
• Proven experience training, fine-tuning, and deploying transformer-based models and encoding methods.
• Experience optimizing and deploying models at scale in low-latency environments, including batch inference, model distillation, or hardware acceleration.
• Expertise in evaluation frameworks, gold-standard datasets, performance metrics, and edge-case analysis.
• Experience integrating probabilistic ML models with deterministic or legacy architectures, including confidence scoring and A/B testing rollouts.
• Strong software engineering skills, including clean scalable code, technical documentation, and CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
