Research Engineer I - Python & Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid, with 1–2 days per week in the office. Candidates must be commutable to Bucharest.

What you will do

• Develop and test a comprehensive portfolio of security configurations.
• Enhance real-time detection of user behaviors that may affect ERP system security.
• Evaluate, research, and resolve vulnerabilities.
• Create and analyze exploits and generate research content powering threat detection, vulnerability management, static code analysis, and compliance automation.
• Collaborate with defensive security researchers to improve platform capabilities and strengthen SAP security expertise.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Python programming experience.
• Knowledge of Python best practices and practical experience in security software development.
• Basic experience with API calls, including REST, GraphQL, Django, or Flask.
• Experience developing in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with security and networking protocols, network architecture, and security mechanisms.
• Good English skills and effective written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Understanding of common network vulnerabilities and attacks.
• Knowledge of regular expressions and interest in researching security challenges.
• Basic experience with Python asynchronous technologies such as Celery, AMQP, MQTT, or Redis.
