Senior Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Remote across Europe, Latin America, and North America

Annual compensation: $130,000–$160,000 USD for US-based candidates; higher packages may be considered.

What you will do

• Build and operate secure, scalable payment systems for thousands of hospitality customers.
• Integrate with complex global partner APIs and design resilient payment interfaces.
• Develop event-driven microservices and backend features for a global hospitality platform.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong attention to performance and reliability.
• Use metrics, experiments, prototypes, and observability to support data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL; database tuning and optimization are preferred.
• 1+ year of experience designing and developing event-driven microservices in PHP or Java.
• Experience with DataDog, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, or ArgoCD.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing.
• Must already be authorized to work in the applicable location without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with secure software engineering, regulated environments, PCI-DSS, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale solutions and Domain-Driven Design.
• Payments or travel industry experience.
