Manager - Compliance (AI)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; onsite

AIQ is an Abu Dhabi-based technology company and joint venture between Presight, ADNOC, and hirify.global that develops and commercializes industrial AI products for the energy sector.

What you will do

• Provide legal, ethics, and compliance advice across AIQ and its group companies.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and amend legal opinions, agreements, policies, procedures, and corporate documentation.
• Lead export controls and trade compliance for AI compute, models, software, GPUs, cloud infrastructure, and dual-use technologies under UAE, U.S., and multilateral regimes.
• Conduct third-party integrity due diligence, including sanctions, anti-money laundering, beneficial ownership, anti-bribery, conflicts of interest, and reputational risk reviews.
• Support responsible AI governance covering model evaluation, data protection, transparency, accountability, human oversight, and AI lifecycle risk management.
• Develop the Ethics & Compliance Program, oversee investigations, maintain legal and obligation registers, and support remediation and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 7 years of transactional experience in a reputable international law firm or in-house legal department, preferably in technology.
• Excellent written and spoken English is required.
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, business practices, and international best practices.
• Strong legal, analytical, communication, compliance, and risk-assessment skills.

Nice to have

• Fluent Arabic.
• Certification or specialist training in trade controls, data protection, or responsible AI.
• Experience with listed-company requirements.
• Working knowledge of responsible AI frameworks and export-control or sanctions regimes applicable to advanced computing.
