SAP MDG Functional Consultant – Material (SAP MDG)

What you will do

• Lead the functional design and implementation of SAP MDG solutions for the Material domain.
• Translate business requirements into scalable governance processes covering material creation, maintenance, approval, extension, version handling, and lifecycle management.
• Define data models, change request types, approval workflows, validations, derivations, and replication requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning, SAP MM, technical, integration, and data migration stakeholders.
• Support DRF and downstream replication, data migration, mass uploads, validation, reconciliation, testing, UAT, and go-live activities.
• Contribute to global template design, rollout, migration, upgrade, and transformation programs across SAP ECC and S/4HANA.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of SAP experience, including 3–5 years of hands-on SAP MDG functional experience.
• Strong expertise in SAP MDG Material Master and a deep understanding of SAP Material Master structures and SAP MM processes.
• Experience with MDG data models, governance workflows, change requests, validations, derivations, replication, and DRF.
• Experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments, including migration, upgrade, or transformation programs.
• Experience with data migration, mass upload, data validation, reconciliation, error handling, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• SAP Master Data Governance certification.
• Experience with SAP MDG on S/4HANA, co-deployed and hub deployment models, MDG Consolidation, and Mass Processing.
• Experience with SAP Fiori and SAP Clean Core architecture.
• Supply Chain Planning expertise, global S/4HANA template build and rollout experience, and Pharma/Life Sciences experience with GxP awareness.
