Privacy Operations Manager (Fintech)

Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working with a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office. New team members initially work full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Own and continuously improve privacy operations processes, procedures, workflows and tooling.
• Coordinate Data Protection Impact Assessments and maintain accurate, evidenced Records of Processing Activities.
• Lead retention schedule implementation and coordinate deletion activities with Data Owners and Technology teams.
• Support data subject rights requests through data discovery, record retrieval and system searches.
• Coordinate erasure, rectification and restriction requests, privacy service desk tickets and related workflows.
• Maintain operational evidence and produce management information on request volumes, completion rates, deletion activity, controls and overdue actions.

Requirements

• Experience managing and developing teams in data governance, data quality, data privacy, analytics or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data protection principles, controls and best practices.
• Experience with data ownership, stewardship, data quality management, data risk and governance improvement initiatives.
• Experience coordinating personal data discovery, searches and retrieval across multiple business systems and repositories.
• Experience operating service management processes and workflow-driven activities through ticketing or case management platforms.
• Experience working in a regulated environment, with strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection, CIPP/E, CIPM or an equivalent professional qualification.
