Intern (d/f/m) in the field of Space Situational Awareness and Intelligence (Aerospace)

Location: Immenstaad/Friedrichshafen, Germany; work at the Airbus site in Friedrichshafen

What you will do

• Support the design of satellite missions focused on Space Situational Awareness and Space Intelligence.
• Analyze satellite platforms, subsystems, and payloads.
• Simulate, analyze, and optimize mission scenarios and assess mission performance.
• Design, implement, or improve software tools for simulating and analyzing SSA systems and missions.
• Support projects in the space safety and security domain.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full time in a Master’s program in space or aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, physics, mathematics, software engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of orbital mechanics, AOCS, and/or mission analysis.
• Programming experience with Python and experience with mission analysis tools such as STK, Orekit, or GMAT.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork.
• Fluent English required; good German skills are beneficial.
• Interest in Space Situational Awareness and space-related topics.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of optics, image processing, or control technology.
