Internship: Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Tres Cantos, Madrid, Spain

What you will do

• Develop AI-based algorithms for IMU processing and inertial navigation using an existing architecture.
• Train and validate AI models across different configurations, architectures, hyperparameters, and operational scenarios.
• Prepare and process datasets from IMUs and real-world test campaigns.
• Propose and evaluate architecture improvements and integrate additional navigation measurements or sensor data.
• Compare developed solutions with conventional navigation approaches and state-of-the-art methods.
• Document and present algorithms, experiments, and results.

Requirements

• Current master's student in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Programming skills, preferably in Python.
• Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Solid foundation in linear algebra and statistics.
• Experience with neural network architectures for sequential or time-series data and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of state estimation and sensor fusion techniques.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of inertial navigation, IMUs, and INS implementation.
