Location: Santa Clara, California, or remote. Remote employees must travel to the Santa Clara headquarters twice per quarter based on business or team needs, and must work onsite there for the first two weeks of onboarding. Only applicants who meet the definition of a U.S. person under applicable export control laws may be eligible.
Salary: $160,000–$210,000 per year.

What you will do
- Develop probabilistic risk assessment models for fast reactor designs.
- Identify initiating events using hazard evaluation methods, including FMEAs.
- Develop event trees and fault trees and quantify event sequence probabilities.
- Evaluate event sequence consequences and external hazards.
- Collaborate with engineering design and analysis teams to improve system reliability and safety.
- Prepare technical reports, analyses, and supporting documentation for licensing activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in nuclear, mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field.
- Familiarity with probabilistic risk assessment techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- U.S. person eligibility may be required because the role may involve information subject to U.S. export control laws.
Nice to have
- Advanced PRA education, training, or experience.
- Experience with DOE authorization, NRC licensing under 10 CFR Parts 50 or 52, or products prepared for regulatory review.
- Experience with PRA software such as CAFTA, SAPHIRE, ADAPT, or RAVEN.
- Fast reactor design, hazard analysis, transient or source term analysis, or human reliability analysis experience.
- Experience supporting operating nuclear power plants.
