Sr Engineer, Software Engineer - Fullstack (Java/Angular) 2 - 5 years' experience

Location: Hybrid schedule in Columbus, Ohio, with office attendance on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Salary: $76,000–$115,000 expected starting annual range; national range of $76,000–$143,000.

What you will do

• Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, document, deploy, and maintain software applications.
• Build and maintain Java Spring Boot REST APIs and extend existing Angular applications.
• Support established systems for institutional life insurance products, including COLI, BOLI, and ICOLI solutions.
• Apply secure software engineering and DevSecOps practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while resolving blockers independently.
• Collaborate with business partners and technology colleagues in an agile environment.

Requirements

• Two or more years of software engineering, analysis, or related technology experience.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Angular, .NET API development, LINQ, and SQL.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices and proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Ability to debug independently, understand legacy codebases, work with minimal direction, and solve moderately complex problems.
• Ability to work from the Columbus, Ohio office two days per week is required.
• This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization and does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot for package and version migrations.
• Apigee API proxy experience and familiarity with proxy enforcement rules.
• Insurance or financial services industry knowledge.
• Ability to interpret technical changelogs, migration guides, and framework release notes.
