CAD Modeler (Robotics)

Salary: $150,000–$166,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Translate industrial design intent, sketches, scans, and models into high-quality, robust CAD geometry.
• Develop complex surfaces and integrate them with structural and mechanical systems across complex assemblies.
• Resolve packaging constraints, component interfaces, mounting features, part boundaries, seams, and transitions.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, and technicians to iterate on geometry and solve product integration challenges.
• Support prototypes, mockups, and production-intent assemblies by evaluating surface quality, fit, function, durability, and user interaction.
• Improve modeling, automation, and computational design workflows for faster and more consistent CAD iteration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in CAD modeling, digital surfacing, Class-A surfacing, digital sculpting, or a related field.
• Professional proficiency with CAD and surfacing tools such as Autodesk Alias, Rhino, CATIA, NX, or similar.
• Experience developing complex surface geometry for physical products and translating industrial design intent into manufacturable CAD.
• Strong understanding of surface continuity, curvature, transitions, surface quality, and complex assemblies.
• Experience with Class-A surfacing, SubD modeling, and translating SubD concepts into production-quality CAD geometry.
• Ability to work hands-on with physical prototypes and incorporate findings from physical builds back into CAD.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD automation or computational design using Python, Dynamo, Grasshopper, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, fabrication, casting, silicone, urethane, composites, textiles, or softgoods.
• Experience supporting products from early concept through production.
