Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite five days a week

Base salary: $149,000–$188,000 per year, plus potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic applications, balancing functionality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other development documentation.
• Own a hardware module by understanding, developing, and improving its requirements.
• Build and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and iterate on designs.
• Work with electrical engineers, software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components.
• Present design concepts and prototypes in design reviews and manage project, specification, and testing documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong portfolio of relevant projects and designs.
• Practical experience building and testing mechanical systems; hands-on fabrication skills are highly valued.
• Enthusiasm for actuation, mechanisms, and robotics.
• Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and mechanical design skills.
