Location: Hybrid role primarily in an office setting in the Raleigh area, North Carolina; the position is posted for the United States. Defined shifts include 8:00am–5:00pm, 9:30am–6:30pm, or 11:00am–8:00pm, with occasional evening and weekend coverage. Support may be required for patients in Mountain or Pacific time zones. Travel is less than 20%.
Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annual base pay, with bonus eligibility.

What you will do
- Educate patients about specific chronic disease states, prescribed medications, medication administration, and treatment routines.
- Provide one-on-one support through telephone, video platforms, email, and SMS in accordance with program guidelines.
- Connect patients with approved resources and guide them through treatment access and financial barriers.
- Help patients understand and manage side effects, reinforce behavior change, and support long-term adherence.
- Facilitate constructive communication between patients and healthcare providers while supporting treatment decisions made with healthcare professionals.
- Build relationships with third parties, coordinate program activities, and complete additional duties assigned by program management.
Requirements
- Current Certified Medical Assistant credential such as CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or AMCA.
- At least 3 years of healthcare experience in a physician’s office, clinic, or specialty-care setting.
- Experience educating or supporting patients, including direct patient interaction and support for treatment persistence and compliance.
- Knowledge of clinical data and pharmacology, with strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, multitask, work independently, adapt to changing responsibilities, and build effective third-party relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and iPad technology; valid driver’s license required. Must reside in the country where the job is posted and be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience in digestive health or gastroenterology.
- Experience in a virtual or call center environment and telephonic patient education.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
