Director, ASIC Software Engineering (ASIC)

hirify.global develops reusable space vehicles and systems and is building TeraWave, a multi-orbit satellite communications network with interconnected LEO and MEO satellites.

What you will do

• Lead and scale a Kraków-based ASIC software organization of approximately 20 engineers across embedded firmware, platform software, device drivers, validation software, and applications.
• Own software strategy, architecture, execution, and delivery for TeraWave custom ASIC and SoC platforms.
• Oversee boot software, BSPs, hardware abstraction layers, device drivers, firmware, diagnostics, test automation, SDKs, APIs, CLIs, and reference applications.
• Drive software readiness from architecture and pre-silicon validation through FPGA prototyping, silicon bring-up, system integration, and production release.
• Partner with ASIC architecture, design, verification, FPGA, systems, RF, hardware, test, and program teams on hardware-software interfaces and delivery milestones.
• Serve as Kraków site lead by establishing the operating model, engineering culture, hiring strategy, cross-site collaboration, and local partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience focused on ASIC software, embedded systems, firmware, platform software, silicon enablement, or hardware-software systems.
• 5+ years leading software engineering teams, including direct people leadership or management of managers.
• Experience delivering software for custom ASICs, SoCs, FPGAs, networking or wireless silicon, aerospace systems, or other complex hardware-centric products.
• Strong understanding of C/C++, boot flows, low-level drivers, hardware-software interfaces, memory maps, registers, interrupts, buses, peripherals, firmware architecture, and real-time software.
• Fluency in English is required; international travel may be required.

Nice to have

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant engineering, computer science, or communications discipline.
• Experience with RTL simulation, emulation, FPGA prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop validation, silicon bring-up, or board bring-up.
• Experience with Palladium, Zebu, Veloce, Protium, HAPS, or similar emulation and prototyping platforms.
• Background in wireless or satellite communications, 5G, Wi-Fi, software-defined radio, optical communications, or space networking.
• Experience establishing a new engineering site, nearshore development center, or international technical organization.
