Director, Statistical Programming Innovation (AI)

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for innovative statistical programming practices, tools, and infrastructure.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-assisted tools that improve programming efficiency, quality, regulatory compliance, and GDPR compliance.
• Replace manual and traditional SAS-based processes with automated, reproducible pipelines using R, Python, and emerging technologies.
• Design, build, and maintain reusable tools, macros, packages, and templates for consistent programming deliverables.
• Lead migration and integration efforts that modernize or supplement SAS workflows with R- and Python-based solutions.
• Provide technical direction for R Shiny applications, including interactive review tools, safety and efficacy dashboards, and TLF exploration tools, while setting standards for architecture, modularity, performance, and deployment.

Requirements

• BS or equivalent in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent scientific programming experience.
• 10+ years of statistical programming experience, including expertise in R and SAS in CRO or pharmaceutical environments.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong working proficiency in R for data manipulation, automation, and/or statistical analysis.
• Hands-on and leadership experience building tools, macros, or pipelines that improved efficiency or standardization.
