Software Engineer 5 - Product Localization (AI)

Location: Los Gatos, California, United States

Salary: $388,000–$558,000 annual salary, with the option to choose the mix of salary and stock options.

What you will do

• Build platforms, products, and AI-powered systems for translation, cultural adaptation, and product localization workflows.
• Lead ambitious initiatives from concept through launch across engineering, product, design, and business partners.
• Design agentic workflows where AI agents coordinate work and humans remain involved where appropriate.
• Develop reliable systems using durable workflow orchestration, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and resilient automation.
• Drive technical tradeoffs, architectural decisions, execution, and alignment across multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building resilient, high-scale, low-latency production systems.
• Production experience with AI-native products, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.
• Hands-on experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language, including distributed systems, concurrency, performance tuning, and observability.
• Experience designing and implementing gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful APIs.
• Experience architecting and operating highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong communication skills and experience leading complex initiatives across engineering and cross-functional partners.

• Experience incorporating AI into software engineering workflows.
• Product-minded judgment and a track record of leading 0-to-1 initiatives in ambiguous environments.
