Salary: $112,000–$160,000 per year, depending on experience and location; eligible for an annual performance bonus and potential equity or incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and test complex moving mechanical assemblies for spacecraft, missile systems, and air platforms.
  • Develop flight-critical mechanisms, including motor drives, deployment hinges, latching mechanisms, actuators, and separation systems.
  • Perform kinematic, stress, structural, and thermal modeling to verify performance and reliability in demanding aerospace environments.
  • Oversee hardware development from conceptual design through manufacturing, environmental testing, and final flight qualification.
  • Integrate mechanisms into vehicle architectures with multidisciplinary engineering teams while meeting mass, power, and interface constraints.
  • Create CAD models using Siemens NX and apply ANSI Y14.5 GD&T practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience designing and developing mechanisms for spacecraft, missile systems, or air platforms.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and testing flight-critical mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with kinematic, stress, and thermal analysis for aerospace applications.
  • Experience managing hardware development through manufacturing, environmental testing, and flight qualification.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams; ability to lift or move 50 pounds.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
