Corporate Counsel, Global Legal R&D (Biotech)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global campus in South San Francisco, California, United States. Remote work and relocation benefits are not available.

Salary: $181,800–$337,600 annually, with a possible discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Provide strategic legal advice to Research and Early Development, Clinical Operations, Global Product Development, and Medical Affairs.
• Advise on FDA laws, biotech and pharmaceutical regulations, clinical trials, human subject protection, and real-world data.
• Support the use of AI in research and development activities, as well as US and global data privacy matters.
• Draft and negotiate complex research collaboration and data sharing agreements with academic, healthcare, government, and external partners.
• Develop guidance, playbooks, templates, processes, and training for internal clients and the Legal Department.
• Collaborate with global legal colleagues, regulatory and ethics experts, business teams, and other multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience focused on pharmaceutical, biotech, or related life science matters.
• US law degree (J.D.) and current good-standing admission to at least one US state bar, or eligibility for California's Registered In-House Counsel program.
• Proficient knowledge of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, related regulations, US fraud and abuse laws, and other laws governing human therapeutics research and development.
• Ability to support global working hours and provide clear, practical legal advice to legal and non-legal colleagues.
• Strong judgment, communication, client-relations, collaboration, prioritization, and independent working skills.
• Interest in learning the scientific and technical aspects of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical business.
