Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: 100% on-site in Suitland, Maryland, United States. Flexible scheduling is available, with preferred afternoon shifts or start times from 10:00 AM onward.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop, update, and maintain RMF documentation, including SSPs and SARs, supporting BAPS through the RMF pipeline toward full ATO.
• Track, prioritize, and close vulnerability tickets and POA&M items.
• Maintain security documentation and system records in eMASS.
• Run security scans, perform technical testing, and produce evidence of compliance with mandatory security controls.
• Patch Windows systems and the local area network for approximately 16 hours per week.
• Configure, image, and deploy replacement Windows 10 computers while coordinating security control implementation with stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school education with 9+ years of experience or equivalent experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE or CySA+.
• Experience in cybersecurity, engineering, system administration, or network support.
• Experience managing vulnerability tickets, POA&Ms, remediation schedules, security scans, and compliance artifacts.
• Hands-on Windows and LAN patching experience, with strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Active Secret clearance and the ability to work 100% on-site in Suitland, Maryland are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with the U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, or military IT environments.
• Experience with eMASS, ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans, and DISA STIGs.
• Willingness to work afternoon schedules or start at 10:00 AM or later.
