Senior Legal Analyst - Annuities and Variable Products

Location: Hybrid office environment with three days in office each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in Denver, Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, or Philadelphia, United States.

Salary: $94,000–$114,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Research and apply federal and state laws, rules, and regulations affecting insurance and SEC-registered annuity products.
• Support Legal, Compliance, Operations, and business teams with policy interpretation, claims matters, escalated complaints, and complex operational issues.
• Review annual prospectus filings, SEC filings, and required product disclosures, and support the registration of new products.
• Help resolve SEC staff comments and address outside counsel concerns related to new products, product enhancements, and disclosure changes.
• Manage Fund Participation Agreements and related contracts and amendments.
• Support responses to market conduct and regulatory examinations, communicate legal changes, and lead or assist special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience with products registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and/or the Securities Act of 1933.
• Knowledge of financial services and annuity products, including securities-regulated products.
• Strong written and verbal communication, legal research, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and the SEC’s EDGAR website.

Nice to have

• Experience with variable annuities and a range of investment or insurance products.
• Paralegal or legal analyst experience.
• Experience with Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms.
