Senior Consulting Engineer

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $159,120–$238,680 per year.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional teams through complex component and system design and development.
• Resolve manufacturing and operational issues while ensuring design acceptance, manufacturability, and product validation.
• Develop project scopes addressing business challenges and opportunities.
• Maintain enterprise technology roadmaps and implement process improvements for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Define engineering procedures and translate functional requirements into detailed design documents.
• Collaborate across the enterprise and with external stakeholders to deliver product solutions.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited program in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science.
• Expert-level analytical thinking, including root-cause analysis, statistical and quantitative analysis, business analytics, and explanatory and predictive modeling.
• Expert-level decision-making and critical-thinking capabilities, including stakeholder analysis, decision models, and crisis decision support.
• Expert-level technical excellence and the ability to develop solutions to significant and highly complex technical challenges.
• Extensive experience influencing through technical expertise and communicating complex ideas clearly.
• Extensive project management experience, including planning, estimating, staffing, monitoring, risk management, reviews, and project controls.
• Expert-level product testing experience, including testing strategy, tool selection, manufacturing test processes, and testing standards.
• Expert-level product design and development experience from concept through production, including cross-functional leadership and development of organizational practices.
