Software Engineer - Automation, Early Career (AI)

Location: Site-based in Carlsbad, California, with work from a hirify.global office or work location 3+ days per week. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

Salary: $95,000–$150,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $118,000–$177,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and implement software for satellite communication ground and mobility systems.
• Integrate software features and automate interactions with test components to support continuous deployment.
• Develop cloud infrastructure, scalable software, robust API-driven systems, and lab orchestration tools.
• Debug scalability, networking, software defects, and distributed-state issues.
• Collaborate on software architecture, custom solutions, DevOps, and internal customer support.
• Participate in team-based development and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of full-time relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python, software documentation, and development in a Linux environment.
• Experience with team-based software development.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• Valid work permit or visa for the country where you will be located and working.

Nice to have

• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server, refactoring, and modularizing codebases.
• CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Docker, containerization, Git, Go, Kubernetes, or Argo CD.
• Experience with AI development, API design, software architecture, and troubleshooting internal-user issues.
