Software Engineer - Automation, Early Career (AI)

Location: Carlsbad, California; site-based, working 3+ days (60%+) per week from a hirify.global office or work location. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

Salary: $95,000–$150,000 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $118,000–$177,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design and implement software solutions for satellite communication ground and mobility systems.
• Develop cloud infrastructure, scalable software, reliable system integrations, and API-driven systems.
• Automate interactions with software test components to support continuous deployment.
• Design and implement software for hirify.global’s customized lab orchestration platform.
• Integrate software features, participate in architecture design, debug scalability, networking, bugs, and distributed-state issues.
• Collaborate with team members, partners, internal customers, DevOps, and code reviewers to design custom solutions and provide support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of full-time relevant industry experience.
• Proficiency coding in Python and developing software in and for a Linux environment.
• Experience with team-based software development and proficiency in documenting.
• Written and verbal communication skills, a positive perspective, and strong collaboration ability.
• Valid work permit or visa for the country where you would be located and working.

Nice to have

• Experience with software feature design, databases such as Postgres or MSSQL Server, refactoring and modularizing existing codebases, and troubleshooting technical issues with internal users.
• CI/CD training or experience with tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge or experience with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Azure, Docker, and containerization.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Claude Code, OpenCode, or Copilot.
• Experience with Git, API design, and software architecture.
• Experience with GoLang, Kubernetes, and Argo CD.
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks and requirements.
